Kuantan Town

KUANTAN is the capital of PAHANG DARUL MAKMUR. It was the place where I was BORN and is my HOMETOWN, is a very beautiful place.

There is a bridge from Padang Lallang connect to a village Kampung Sg Soi and Tanjung Lumpur. Last time we do go by fishing boat or using another road which is Batu 5, Jalan Kuantan/Pekan. It is famous with IKAN BAKAR and OTAK-OTAK (Malay food). Malay mostly stay in Tanjung Lumpur, and Chinese stay in Kg Sg Soi. Those Chinese are doing plantation and rear chicken at the house area.

This few photo are taking from Tanjung Lumpur, it can see the view of Kuantan Town. Lots of calender and postal are using this scenery.

This is Kuantan Municipal Council, situated at Tanah Putih. We pay our assessment, summons, shop licence, etc..... There is lots of department here, Bahagian undang-undang, Bangunan and etc.....

This is Taman Esplanade, next to MPK, and opposite to General Hospital. Also with children playground. From here, we do ride ferry to round Kuantan River, where we can see lots of small octopus under the bridge, and also stop at Taman Paya Pokok Merah, Kilang Keropok, only charge RM10 per ride. At night, the boat can bring us to see firefly in the jungle area.

This is the Kuantan General Hospital, where my children and I were born. Beside this government hospital, there are Kuantan Specialist Hospital, Kuantan Medical Centre.

This is Stadium Darul Makmur, situated at the middle of Kuantan town. Next to it are the long distance bus station, market and shopping centre. There is Pasar Pagi every Sunday morning.

Complex Teruntum, last time was the biggest shopping complex in Kuantan, got cinema, roller skate field, supermarket, A& W fast food,bowling, etc... Now left newly open cineplex and few shop lots, upstair are government office. (Formally was Yayasan Pahang office).

This are Berjaya Megamall and the newly open East Coast Mall. (the biggest mall in east coast) There both situated in the middle of the town, nearby Stadium. Both are high class, lots of famous shop are here like Starbucks coffee shop, Big apple Donuts, Digi centre, Lazo diamond jewelly shop, Padini, Nike boutique, Sushi King, Baskin Robin Icecream etc.....

Taman Gelora nearby Teluk Chempedak beach, some fishing boat start their journey here. The lake are full of waterlily plant.

Lots of people doing exercise and jogging, walk around here. Every Sunday there is pasar malam which selling foods, fruits, fish, chicken, etc.....

There is a hanging bridge overhere. Lots of lover come here for chating . Last time it got the name of "LOVER BRIDGE".

Another seaside next to swimming pool, Teluk Chempedak. From here you can see Complex Teruntum, next to it is Tembeling Resorts.

This is the mini zoo Taman Teruntum, nearby Teluk Chempedak. Now there is riding horse activity, 2 round RM5 , very expensive but still got children ride. Here there are animals like bear, ostrich, deer, peacock, porcupine, etc.....

This is Royal Pahang Golf Club, there is junior driving range, which open everyday. Another famous golf club is Astana Golf which situated at Bandar Indera Mahkota, nearby my home.

There is only one row of shophouse in Teluk Chempedak, when I was young, the Night Fever Disco was here, now is Boulevard Pub, already change so many hands. Now there is only one disco in Berjaya Megamall. Hoi Yeen curry mee is famous here, many races come here even Malay because is HALAL.

Teluk Cempedak got 2 fast food restaurant, KFC & McDonald, both are open 24 hours. So, next time who ever want to see sunrise can come over here.

This are few scenery for Teluk Cempedak beach, facing South China Sea, and there is a new built bridge which connect to another beach. Last time if we want to go there, we need to climb the big rock and some jungle tracking.

This is the fun fair near my home, every year it come once, sometime different place. But now business not good because of rainning. There are few complex hereby my home, like EPF, Immigration, IC dept, etc.... There is the biggest university in Kuantan, UIAM. Another Taman Bandar is situated here and also Laman Woodball.

Another beach is Batu Hitam, situated at Beserah, the way to Kemaman, Terengganu. Its call Batu Hitam is because the rock & stone here are black in colour.
Kuantan got few beach, like every way you will see the seaside, and is famous with SALTED FISH, every tourist come here must buy salted fish and keropok.
